The New Chicago City-State (NCCS), protected by Project Magi-Shield, part of the Greater United States of America (G.U.S.A.), located in the Midwest DZ-5 Region (extreme instability), and grounds for the government's Renewed Light Reclamation Project.
Campaign Description
When the darkstorms began, chaos gripped the globe. It took nearly a quarter century before the world seemed to return to sanity, to grow accustomed to the return of magic.
The cause of the mutations was at first thought to be a new form of bio-terror, but quickly became apparent it was pandemic. Large swaths of land became engulfed in darkstorms, sudden bursts of magical energy wiping out entire communities.
The phenomenon was dubbed the "Otherworld Effect"
Background on the Zones
Dark Zones are regions where magical energies course rampantly, twisting and altering the land. Normal Zones are regions considered "normal", areas of magical stability. Null Zones are magic free, where physics operates pre-magic.
